Crossroads of Collaboration. Construction History and Interdisciplinary Dialogue in Belgium
This presentation was delivered at the 10-year anniversary conference of the Gesellschaft für Bautechnikgeschichte in Berlin, where it offered the first comprehensive overview of Construction History research conducted in Belgium over the past decade. The talk mapped the rapidly growing field, tracing key themes, methodological shifts, and the steady rise of doctoral research across institutions.
A central part of the presentation introduced the EOS project “Construction History: Above and Beyond”, one of the most ambitious and interdisciplinary research initiatives on Construction History in Belgium to date. The lecture also surveyed recent and ongoing PhD work, charting how new generations of scholars are expanding the field’s scope and contributing to its international visibility. A written version of the talk will be published soon in the conference proceedings.
