This public lecture at the Centre d’Art Waza, a local partner with whom we have been collaboration for many years, was intended to share the results of the ongoing PhD research of Igor Bloch on the postwar housing policies in late colonial Congo, and the self built-housing schemes in particular. During the talk, given by Johan Lagae & Igor Bloch, also the results of the two-week fieldwork trip to Lubumbashi were shared with an audience of local researchers and interested inhabitants of the city. Around 50 people participated in the event, that was proceeded by a more closed seminar during which some particular findings in local libraries were shared and discussed.
